Ice Cube’s Early Life
He was born on June 15, 1969, in Los Angeles. to Doris Benjamin and Hosea Jackson. His mother was a teacher and his father, Hosea Jackson Sr., worked as a groundskeeper at UCLA.
Ice Cube spent the first twelve years of his life in South Central Los Angeles before moving with his family to the Crenshaw neighborhood of Los Angeles when he was 14.
His name came from his childhood nickname that evolved because he sold ice cream for pocket money. He attended William Howard Taft High School.
He dropped out of college following high school graduation and enlisted in the U.S Army on September 12th. It is unclear which service branch Ice Cube joined or what particular job title he had within said service branches.
