Potential Hints to the Cow Level in Diablo 4
If you remember from the previous Diablo installments getting to the cow level requires the use of certain items. Diablo 4 players have been looking for anything that might have something to do with this secret map. A most obvious connection can be found in the Dry Steppes. You cannot miss it since it is right in the middle of Ked Bardu. Four oxen shrines taunt those who are adamant about believing in the existence of the cow level. What’s more, out of the four statues, one can be clicked. When players interact with the Oxen God of the East, the message says that the statues are the guardians of the fountain and will bestow a blessing to the one who gives an offering cleansed in the waters. We have the fountain, but we are missing the offering. Where could we find this mysterious item? To taunt us even more, a game file containing the words Ked Bardu fountain puzzle hint has been found. The players are certain that the fountain in Ked Bardu holds the key to the entrance to the cow level in Diablo 4. A couple of more items make things even more intriguing. Several datamined game files contain the words secret cellar, secret cellar door, secret cellar key, and secret cellar relic. They are associated with four items of unknown purposes. We have a Bloody Wooden Shard whose description mentions the letter W. The community believes this has something to do with Wirt’s Leg, an item used to access the cow level in Diablo 2. The Musty Tome was once blue, just like the Town Portal scrolls needed to enter the cow level in Diablo 2. The Intricate Metallic Fragment looks like it was part of an ancient magical device. The Horadric Cube was also needed for the cow level in D2. We also have a Strange Key item. More data mining has found the potential drop locations for the first three items. The shard comes from Hawezar or Kehjistan. The tome should appear in the Fractured Peaks or Scosglen. The fragment is supposedly found in the Dry Steppes. The third clue links to a cellar called the Forlorn Hovel. This was on beta maps and is not in the live game. Players believe that the map where the hovel should be in the game looks like a cow’s head, and the entrance is right on the muzzle. Diablo 4 may have no cow level yet. The developers have put all the necessary items into the game’s code but have not made it available yet. We are eagerly looking forward to finding the home of the hell bovines!
