Lil Pump is a rapper from Miami who has become one of the most popular rappers in the world. He started to gain fame when he released his song “Gucci Gang” and since then, he’s been on top of every Billboard chart. But is Lil Pump really a Harvard dropout?
The answer is no. Lil Pump never went to Harvard. He completed high school. Lil was expelled from high school because of fighting in the tenth standard.
In his Twitter account, he posted a photo of his expulsion letter, with the caption; ”I REALLY DID DROP OUT OF HARVARD TO SAVE THE RAP GAME”

From then the rumor about his Harvard dropout was going viral. But that’s not true. He was released an album named ”Harverd Dropout”. In my personal opinion, Lil Pump maybe tweets about his album.
However, in this album, Lil Pump is rapping about Harvard-related concepts and maybe referencing the prestigious academic institution. He sang some songs on this album.
The song “Harvard Dropout” features lyrics such as, “I just dropped out of Harvard, who wants to see me shoot something with my burner. I got the brains but don’t have no hair on top.”
And in “Paid for It,” he’s rapping about going back and forth from college while simultaneously selling drugs: “We know how much we paid for it/Dropped out of school so we could buy some more/Took five years off before graduation, now we graduated.”
These songs lead us to believe that this young rapper may have attended or been attending one of America’s most famed universities. But that’s not true.
Lil Pump’s Early Life
From his early life, Lil Pump has always had a passion for music. His love first began at age 11 when he would record himself over other songs and make his own mixtapes with the help of his sister.
One day, Lil Pum’s friends were playing him “screwed” versions of popular rap tracks. He found them to sound much better than the originals that played on top 40 radio stations
Around this time, he was introduced to drugs through his older brother who dealt pot from their home in Miami Gardens.
In 2016, Pump released two singles called “Lil Boat” and “Ignorant”, which went viral within days. The tracks are characterized by heavy autotune use as well as lyrics about living life carefree without many responsibilities.
From these two singles, Lil got much appreciation that he was not expected.
Before his fame, Lil used to work as a “sober companion” to patients who suffer from addiction.
In 2019 Lil Pump broke one major record after another, and his song Gucci Gang was on Billboard Hot 100 for 65 weeks!
In an interview with XXL magazine, when asked if he would ever consider going back to school so far into his career, Lil states that “I left high school at sixteen years old.” He also says it’s too late now because “probably I should have done better earlier”.
Before Fame
In his career, he went through many problems, and from these problems, he learned much.
Lil Pump is born as Gazzy Garcia in Miami, Florida. He was raised by his Haitian and Cuban father with no mother present.
In 2016 he released a song called “Gucci Gang” which became an ultimate hit among the rap listeners. Next year in 2017, this rapper signed with Tha Lights Global record label to release singles like “Why not” ft Lil Yachty and Gucci Mane, “Boss”, etc.
On January 19th, 2018 it was announced that he will be joining Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party tour alongside other big names such as The Weeknd, Travis Scott, and French Montana starting on Aug 18th in Denver at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
As a rising star, he did really well in his career. but he is still not able to graduate from a prestigious university. That’s not the big deal. He was succeeded in his career without having a degree.
