Her latest was released in 2018 with the name “Queen.” It’s a banger! That why the rumor spread about her retirement.
In her social media account, she clarified that she is going to retire from being a pop star. She is going to move on and evolve into the next stage of her life! In 2018, it was announced that she would be taking some time off to focus more on acting as well as other ventures like creating clothing lines and fragrances.
This led many people online to believe that this means that she will no longer be making music. But that’s not all she said in this interview…
“I will always love rap, hip hop and I’m going to continue working on my craft.”

There are always rumors about Nicki Minaj retiring, but she has made it crystal clear that she is not done with her music. But it’s not a rumor it turns true!!
“I love music and interacting with fans. So I can’t really see taking myself completely away. But I want to be open to other possibilities in my life,” she said. “I do believe it is important to become a woman outside of the magnifying glass. I have to make sure that I’m well-rounded as a human being.”
But just because you stop producing new content does not mean the end of your career! She could be still making music while focusing on other ventures like creating clothing lines and fragrances.
How successful was her last Albam Queen?
“The album was a commercial success,” One of the head executives at Interscope told Billboard. “It’s just that she wanted to make more records so we weren’t able to give her all the time in the world.”
But it seems like Nicki Minaj is not done with music yet! You can find plenty of new content on Spotify, Pandora, and iTunes if you look hard enough.
She may be focusing on other projects for now but don’t count out her rap career just yet.
On April 12th, 2018 Nicki released three singles. Barbie Dreams ft. Tyga which has since been taken down off YouTube due to copyright issues; Chun-Li ft Future (currently unavailable); and Good Form ft. Lil Wayne (currently unavailable).
All three singles are available on Spotify, Tidal, and other streaming services but the song Chun-Li is only available for purchase through Apple Music.
She also released a new track entitled “Chun Swae” with Offset in September 2018. The Nicki Minaj catalog is deep and her recent releases prove she’s not done.
