Chanchal Chowdhury is a National award-winning Bangladeshi actor. He is known for his brilliant performance both in Tv and film industry. Chowdhury became popular after performing the role of Shonai in the “Monpura” movie.

Early Life
Chowdhury was born on 1 June 1974 in Pabna, Bangladesh. Born in a Hindu family and brought up in a village named Kamarhaat.
He spent his childhood with joy and carefree. The Padma river is situated beside their house so when he came back from school, he rushed out to bathe in the river. From his childhood, he was very restless and daring.
Though he is an actor, his family wanted to see him as an engineer. But his passion for acting makes him an actor.

From his early life, he wanted to be an artist. So, in 1993 he came to Dhaka to settle down and concentrate on culture as much as possible.
Firstly, he joined a theater in 1999 along with his study. The theater ‘Aronyak’ which was consist of legendary actors. Mamunur Rashid was the scriptwriter and director of this theater.
He performed plays on the Aronyak stage like Mayur Singhason, Rarang and Che-er Cycle, Prakritojoner Kotha.
After that, he worked on stage continuously for ten years. During performing on stage, he gets some chance to act in television drama.
However, he did some minor roles on tv, and then as a hero, he first worked in the drama “Grash” directed by Faridur Rahman. In 2001, he joined as a Fine Arts lecturer in UODA. But he continued his job until 2006.

Education
Chanchal completed his school from Kamarhaat primary school in Pabna. In 1990, he completed his S.S.C from Udaypur High School. After that, got admitted to Rajbari Government College and completed his H.S.C.
Then, came to Dhaka for admission at Dhaka University. He was admitted to the Department of Fine Arts at DU. He used to act in a theater when he was a third-year student.
During his studies in Fine Arts, he created many wood arts and used them to paint which is still kept by himself with care.
His family was not happy with his decision to admit to Fine Arts at Dhaka University. But his inner passion for acting and theater encouraged him.
Personal Life
Chanchal got married to Shantwana Saha in 2008. He tried his best to keep privacy about his personal life that’s why we are unable to collect information about his wife.
However, we saw his wife on his Facebook page. He posted his family picture sometimes. Chanchal loves singing and listens to Bhupen Hazarika and Hemanta Mukhopadhdhay songs.

Chanchal’s father’s name is Radha Gobinda Chowdhury who wanted to see his son as an engineer. His mother Nomita Chowdhury is a housewife. After his son’s success, they are happy with what he is today.
Gobinda Chowdhury has eight children. Chanchal has an elder brother who is a doctor and five sisters. Above all, they have a big family.

Career
Firstly, Fazlur Rahman Babu was introduced Chanchal to the directors Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and Gias Uddin Selim in 2004. Then, he started working in television drama.
when started his journey, he did some drama like Talpatar Shepai, Nikhoj Shogbaad directed by Farooki, and “Shurjer Hashi” directed by Gias Uddin Selim.
After did a tv commercial, he gets popular and started act in many tv dramas. Some famous works Goruchor, Nurunnahar, Bangsher Bati, Vober Hat, Ghor Kutum, College – Student, and so on.
Played some funny characters in dramas like Patri Chai, Tin Geda, Chor Jamai, Vola Chor, Telbaba, Mind Lotif, Khela, Kajer Bua, Peair Alir Notun Bou, and so on.

Besides, Mojnu Akjon Pagol, Shohorali, Dugdugi, and many serial he did. Harkipte was one of the famous serials in his career directed by Salauddin Lavlu.
Because of his natural acting skill, he was played many village characters. Most of the drama was funny and based on native people’s life stories.
In his acting career, Sakin Sarisuri was the most popular drama. At that time Chanchal was known as ‘Japan Doctor’ and his dialogue was famous through his fan.

Chanchal did the first tv commercial with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki the title was “Maa”. Through this commercial, he got immense popularity. Though he did not learn singing from his childhood, he was sung his first advertisement’s jingle.
Then worked with Robi, PHP Arabian Horse Super NN, Akash DTH, Pureit Classic, High-speed Hair color, and so on.
Moreover, we saw him as an anchor in award functions. A few months ago, he did a cover folk song “Juboti Radhey” with Meher Afroz Shaon. This song got viral overnight but they had to remove it after a day of release because of copyright issues.
Film
In his film career, Shilalipi was his first film directed by Shamim Akter. Then he worked with Ashutosh Sujon in this movie “Tiner Tolowar”.
Chanchal got a chance to work with Tauquir Ahmed and Humayun Faridi in “Rupkothar Golpo” movie directed by Tauquir Ahmed. In 2009, he played a character named Shonai in the “Monpura” movie directed by Giasuddin Selim.
Monpura has created a fierce stir in the box office. Because of this movie, he was recognized by people and this movie achieve a lot.

Then worked with a legend actor Prosenjit Chatterjee in “Moner Manush” movie. Goutam Ghose made this film based on Lalon’s philosophy and life.
After that did a brilliant character in “Television” movie which is directed by Farooki. In this movie, his co-actor was Nusrat Imrose and Mosharraf Karim.
In the Aynabaji movie, he played a unique role and for this character, he got praised by his audience and critic. At that time it was a trend to watch this movie and share it on social media.
Then Chanchal acted as Misir Ali which is a fictional character created by famous writer Humayun Ahmed. Anam Biswas made this movie ‘Devi” based on Humayun Ahmed’s novel in 2018.
Recently, he did a web series named Taqdeer. In which the plot of the story was unique and strong. In Taqdeer, he acts as a driver of the dead body freezer van. His upcoming movie is Hawa directed by Mezbaur Rahman Sumon.
