Randy Travis Personal Life

Travis was born on May 4, 1959, in Marshville, North Carolina. He was raised in a strict Pentecostal home. 

His father, Harold Traywick Sr., was a construction worker, and his mother, Diane Traywick, was a housewife. Travis had five siblings.

Travis began playing guitar at the age of eight and started writing songs when he was nine. He was discovered by country music legend, George Jones, who helped him get a record deal.

His debut album, Storms of Life, was released in 1986 and was a huge success. It went platinum and produced four No. 1 hits.

Travis’s career was nearly derailed in the early 1990s when he was arrested for public intoxication and assault. 

He entered rehab and made a comeback with the release of the album, This is Me.

Travis has been married twice. His first marriage, to Elizabeth Hatcher-Travis, ended in divorce in 2010. 

Then he married his second wife, Mary Davis, in 2015. Travis has three daughters: Tyler, Kylie, and Emma.
