It’s no secret that Eminem has been a hugely successful musician. He was the first person to ever win two Academy Awards for Best Original Song. Also, he is one of the best-selling artists of all time. In addition, he has had three consecutive albums debut at number one on Billboard 200; The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Revival, and Kamikaze.

However, there have been rumors circulating about whether or not Eminem will retire from music in 2020 when his contract with Shady Records ends. While Eminem himself hasn’t spoken publicly about whether or not he will continue music. So, it’s all about a rumor.

Is Eminem Retired

In an interview on Apple Music’s Beats Radio, Eminem said, “I’m not going to stop doing this. I don’t know how to do anything else.”

Nonetheless, it’s always a possibility that he might retire from music at the end of 2020 if he does want to pursue other career paths outside of his rapper life.

But for now, Eminem is still performing and producing new albums. So, there’s no definitive indication on whether or not he will be retiring.

It seems like right now Eminem has given us little evidence about what his future plans are with respect to retirement.

He says “I don’t know how” when asked what else would make him happy besides being an artist while also saying that he doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

How the rumor spread?

It is not clear when the rumor that Eminem was retiring started, but it could have been from a few different sources.

One potential source for this rumor could be his song “Walk on Water.” In the song, he sings about how people think he’s washed up and irrelevant in today’s rap game. That leads many to believe that he will retire soon after these lyrics are sung.

Another possible way this rumor spread would be through social media outlets like Twitter or Facebook. Where fans are constantly asking if Eminem has retired yet.

A third possibility is that because of his fame, others may mistakenly believe they see him at various events. If they see him at a grocery store, for instance, they may report that he has retired from music.

The rumor is not true and Eminem has not announced any plans to retire in the near future. All the rumors about his retirement turn false after releasing his latest album.

Eminem’s latest album is Music to Be Murdered By released in 2020. The album’s title, art, and cover were inspired by Jeff Alexander’s word album cover for his 1989 album.

The rapper was also featured on Nas’ verse of DJ Khaled’s song “Nas Album Done” which was released earlier this year.

Eminem has continued his touring around North America. So, there are no signs that he will retire anytime soon.

Career

From his childhood, Eminem had a strong passion for hip-hop music. He was inspired by the rap performances of Afrika Bambaataa, The Beastie Boys, and Run DMC.

One day he happened to see the “Grand Royal” magazine which features LL Cool J on its cover and that made him want to be like this rapper.

In his first album Infinite (1996), Eminem shares many songs about violence, drug addiction with suicidal thoughts. As well as family problems he faced in childhood or early adulthood.

The following albums Marshall Mathers LP(2000) and The Eminem Show(2002) are considered as some of the most critically acclaimed albums in contemporary pop culture history. Because they both won Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album category.
